Welcome to Las Vegas! π°
π° General Tips
-
Stay on the Strip (or nearby) – It’s where most of the action is, and you'll save time on transportation.
-
Walk, but wisely – The Strip looks walkable, but distances are deceiving. Wear comfy shoes and use the monorail, trams, or ride-shares when needed.
-
Sign up for casino loyalty programs – Even if you don’t gamble much, you can get discounts on dining, shows, and rooms.
π½️ Food & Drinks
-
Buffets aren’t what they used to be – The famous buffets are pricier now, but some like Bacchanal (Caesars) and Wynn Buffet are still worth it.
-
Book restaurants in advance – Popular spots fill up quickly, especially celebrity chef restaurants.
-
Drink for free while gambling – Cocktail waitresses offer free drinks if you’re playing (just tip them well!).
-
Bring a refillable water bottle – Vegas is dry, and buying bottled water constantly adds up.
π️ Shows & Entertainment
-
Book big shows ahead of time – Cirque du Soleil, Adele, and other major acts sell out fast.
-
Look for last-minute deals – If you're flexible, check sites like Tix4Tonight for discounts on same-day shows.
-
Free attractions still exist! – The Fountains of Bellagio, the Mirage Volcano (before it’s gone), and the Fremont Street Experience are all must-sees.
π️ Shopping & Budgeting
-
Outlets have great deals – North and South Premium Outlets offer discounts on designer brands.
-
Avoid convenience stores on the Strip – Everything is marked up. Instead, hit CVS, Walgreens, or grocery stores off-Strip for snacks and drinks.
-
Gambling? Set a budget – Only play what you're willing to lose, and cash out when ahead!
π Getting Around
-
Uber/Lyft > Taxis – They’re cheaper, but taxis from the airport have a flat fee to the Strip.
-
Monorail & trams – The Monorail runs along the east side of the Strip, and free trams connect some hotels.
-
Don’t rely on public buses at night – The Deuce is fine during the day but slow at night.
π Best Time to Visit
-
Spring & Fall – Best weather (March–May, Sept–Nov).
-
Summer = Extreme heat – Expect 100°F+ (38°C+). Stay hydrated and plan for indoor activities.
-
Weekdays are cheaper – Hotel rates spike on weekends, so visit Sunday–Thursday for better deals.
